Sarawak Wanita BN is unperturbed by the intensified efforts of PKR to recruit new women members to strengthen its support in the state, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Wanita deputy chief Datin Fatimah Abdullah said today.

\She said the women in the state would be able to evaluate for themselves the BN's track record, credibility and commitment to bring development to Sarawak.

"It cannot be denied that a small number of women might be swayed by emotion. They may be taken in by the promises made by the opposition.

"However, we should look at the track record of BN and the commitment of BN leaders in delivering services to the people. We cannot give judgment on certain areas. It must be a holistic assessment.

"I am confident a majority of the women in the state will opt for the more experienced, credible and committed BN to serve the people for the betterment of the present and future generations," she said when asked to comment on a statement by Selangor state executive councillor Elizabeth Wong of the PKR that the party wanted to recruit more women members in Sarawak.

Earlier, Fatimah handed over contributions from the Persatuan Masakan dan Kuih-Muih Sarawak to 94 orphans at the Laila Taib Complex in Kuching.

Fatimah, who is Minister in the Chief Minister's Office, said the state BN was recruiting new women members through the component parties.

"It cannot be denied that there is no total acceptance of the BN. Nevertheless, we listen to the people's questions and answer them honestly so that they will not be hoodwinked by the opposition," she said.
