MTUC crisis: Vote of no-confidence against Zainal likely
The Malaysian Trade Union Congress (MTUC ) has received a letter requesting for a vote of no-confidence motion to be tabled against president Senator Zainal Rampak at its general council meeting scheduled end of the month.
MTUC general secretary G. Rajasekaran told malaysiakini today that the letter was sent by the Club Employees Union general secretary Abdullah Sani two days ago.
However, Rajasekaran said he has advised Abdullah to give his consent to defer the motion as Mohamed Shafie Mammal who is involved in the MTUC leadership tussle with Zainal cannot be present at the meeting as he will be away in Mecca to perform the haj.
"We can't stop any trade union from tabling such a motion, but let's make it fair for both sides when the motion is tabled," said Rajasekaran.
He said it would not be fair if Mohd Shafie was not present to defend himself in the event that pro-Zainal supporters come up with criticisms and allegations against him.
