Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak's treatment of Sabah and Sarawak is very different from his predecessors, said Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) president Joseph Pairin Kitingan.     

He said Najib gave more focus on the two states and was open to suggestions and involvement of all parties via the 1Malaysia concept.     

"We used to plead, complain and fume why we are left behind. Former prime minister Dr Mahathir introduced the rotation system for the chief minister's post and this destroyed the state.     

"Sabah wants someone who is practical and committed to the people here," he said when opening Sook PBS annual general meeting in Keningau, Sabah today.     

He said Sabahans had confidence in the Barisan Nasional leadership in bringing about transformation and would not be easily influenced by falsehood spread by the opposition.
