Pasir Mas parliamentarian Ibrahim Ali said today he may cooperate with other parties besides Umno and PAS or set up a party to contest in the next general election.   

"I know that PAS or Umno may not accept me and some other parties are also distancing themselves from me because I am in Perkasa," said the president of Perkasa, a right-wing Malay group, adding that he had a strategy.

Kelantan PAS election machinery director Abdul Fatah Haron said yesterday Kelantan PAS would not allow Ibrahim to stand on a PAS ticket in the next general election.  

Ibrahim said he would not have any difficulty contesting in a Malay-majority constituency in the country.  

"Sixty-two per cent of the parliamentary constituencies in the country are Malay-majority areas," he said at his Aidilfitri open house held in the compound of the Pasir Mas railway station.
