Cosmetics millionaire Sosilawati Lawiya, who was believed to have been murdered, was a successful and respected businesswoman, said Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

He said Sosilawati, who was also a member of the Federal Territory and Selangor Malay Chamber of Commerce, owned creative products and was noted for being unassuming as well as for her business acumen.

Khalid hoped investigations into the case could be closed quickly to calm the situation.

"I believe the police have carried out a good job so far and they have shown effectiveness in searching for information on the case," he told reporters after visiting Sosilawati's family members today.

Khalid last met Sosilawati at the breaking of fast at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque on Aug 28, two days before she was reported missing.
