Khairy slams Utusan's support of Perkasa

Phra Ong Chao: So Khairy Jamaluddin agrees with the press having to kowtow to the political party that owns it. In the first place, political parties have no business owning newspapers. Can I safely conclude that Khairy does not believe in a free press, at least one freer than Malaysia's free press?

If so, would it also mean that former PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's policies for greater freedom in Malaysia was a farce considering Khairy was then the PM's Office's head of the policy and communications unit?

Hann Wei Toh: Well, this is an attribute of Khairy that I like. He does what he thinks is right, and he is not really wrong a lot (well, maybe some) of the time. One former Umno Youth chief (Hishammuddin Hussein), on the other hand, seemed to prefer to do what he thought most people would like to see.

'Don't turn grisly murder into racial-political issue'

Justice seeker: Right on the spot, YB Shahrizat Abdul Jalil. There are a few blogs which have been stirring racial tensions by pitting one race against another. The killers are Indians (they call them keling ) and the victims are Malays. How dare they kill the Malays, they claim. They have been even sending SMSes to provoke the Malays.

They fail to realise that this was a criminal case and had nothing to do with racial bias. I presume this was a case of professional rivalry went awry.

Madam Sosilawati was a prominent Malaysian businesswoman who was murdered in a gruesome manner at the hands of these heartless murderers. My heartfelt condolence to the families of the victims. Please heed YB Shahrizat's advice and refrain from acting irrationally.

Anwar will not accept nominations for any post

Imran: PKR should not emulate the BN component parties. It should encourage free elections by making it a rule that no one endorse any candidate but instead leave it entirely to the members. Hence, if there is someone new who is capable of serving the rakyat and perhaps lead the country, then the members should be free to nominate and elect him/her.

Why should anyone get priority over another just because he has been longer in the party?

ISA@Penyu: Now all PKR leaders are talking Umno-style, no contests, just let the Anwar and wife be No 1 and No 2. But Anwar does not want to be No 1 because he knows he is going to jail, so if he makes Azmin Ali No 2 and when Wan Azizah Wan Ismail withdraws, Azmin will be No 1.

Anwar is the best chameleon of politics and will go to great lengths to make sure Azmin wins as he is the only supporter who truly knows Anwar.

Chris: Anwar will be trying to push for a no-contest for the top two posts. First, by asking supporters to nominate him and his wife for the top two posts, and of course subsequently denying he is contesting, and then finally accepting the nominations because of the demands of the grassroots.

I am not blaming him. After all, he is a politician and I will support him and Pakatan Rakyat 100 percent. To beat a devil, we will need another devil!

Syed Husin will not defend PKR No 2 post

Miss: Dear Tuan Senator Syed Husin Ali, I have mixed feelings over your decision - sad for not having you as the stabilising factor in PKR and happy that you would be able to spend more time with your loved ones. We are forever indebted to your sacrifices and struggles you and your loved ones had gone through to bring us where we are today.

Thank you for showing us that what true love is and your fight for all your life is beyond title and position. Thank you for believing that we, the young blood, could bring positive changes to the society.

Having read your last comment on who PKR members should vote for this important post, I think we all can see clearly who could drive Pakatan Rakyat further to Putrajaya. Thank you, Tuan Senator.

Kit Carson: Senator, too bad you have decided not to be among PKR leaders. Your services are greatly appreciated. Do continue to be an advisor to PKR. Take some long overdue rest from politics. I wish you well.

Clear Soul: I'm kinda sad to know that Syed Husin chose not to hold his deputy president post. It was also sad to learn that he has no such fund to run for the deputy post. Such a clean, gentle in heart but fierce activist, definitely wouldn't have money to contest. Especially when you are facing two cash-rich individuals.

Zaid Ibrahim knew that Syed Husin would not stand for the post, and Azmin is very eager to go for the post, and Zaid knows that Azmin has been secretly planning to pressure Syed Husin into not contesting.

Bravo Azmin, you have succeeded. But an individual with such a nasty Umno style will never be able to sit for the post. The only reason if you ever win is through vote-buying, by using all your MPs and Adun supporters and your strategies to tarnish Zaid's good name like the way you sabotaged him and Pakatan in the Hulu Selangor by-election.

At least from my division, you will not get a single vote.
