Poor lighting forced the postponement of the Pahang-Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Cup match at Darul Makmur Stadium last night.

Pahang Football Association (PBNP) vice-president 1 Omar Othman said a new date for the Group B match will be announced later.

"We did not expect one of the floodlights to fail. The visiting team cannot be blamed for asking for postponement as it is within the rules," he told reporters today.

Omar regretted the incident and apologised to supporters present at the stadium to watch the match.

On the commotion caused by some supporters, he said the situation came under control at 11pm after PBNP explained the incident and returned their money.

He added supporters still holding the match tickets could use them to watch the next match.

Some 400 tickets had already been sold before the stadium management decided to postpone the match.
