BN representatives in the Kelantan state assembly will support the special sitting on Sept 27 to amend the state constitution pertaining to the Kelantan Sultan issue.

State opposition leader Md Alwi Che Ahmad, who is also Kok Lanas

assemblyman, said all the BN state assemblymen would definitely support the special sitting on the issue "as His Majesty is our ruler".

He was speaking to reporters at his Raya open house at his residence in  Padang Upih, Ketereh, near Kota Baharu, today.

Md Alwi, who is also Kok Lanas Umno division deputy chief, was earlier asked about the Kelantan opposition assemblymen's stand on the scheduled special state assembly sitting.

Before this, state secretary Mohd Aiseri Alias was reported to have

said that the state government would hold a special sitting of the state legislative assembly soon to amend the state constitution.

According to him, the state government would also determine the allowance for life for the former Kelantan Sultan, Tuanku Ismail Petra Almarhum Sultan Yahya Petra, from the state Consolidated Fund.

Md Alwi, however, said that all the six opposition assemblymen from BN had yet to receive the official invitation from the State Secetariat to the special state assembly sitting.

They are Noor Zahidi Omar (Pengkalan Kubor), Ab Aziz Derashid

(Kuala Balah), Mohd Adhan Kechik (Bukit Panau), Nozula Mat Diah (Paloh) and Mat Yusoff Abd Ghani (Nenggiri).

Md Alwi said the state assembly sitting (on the budget) was scheduled for Nov 1.

The Kelantan state assembly has 45 seats - 38 held by PAS, six by BN and one by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).
