BN will not face any difficulties in retaining the Labuan parliamentary seat in the next election based on the increasing support by the people of the island towards the party.

Labuan BN chairman Yussof Mahal ( left ) yussof mahal said this was gauged through the increasing number of people who attended a Hari Raya Aidilfitri that he jointly organised with 27 village heads at the Labuan Multipurpose hall last night.

"More than 10,000 people from all walks of life flocked to the hall last night despite a heavy downpour.

"Thank God for the increasing support of the people towards our event. This is the third year we had an open house and we could see the increasing supports," he told reporters at his residence here.

Yussof who is also Labuan member of Parliament said the increase in the number of people showed a positive sign of unity and support towards the BN leadership.

On the preparation of general election, Yussof said various programmes have been drawn for the past two years to unite the people and to improve the delivery system of government agencies, especially in the rural areas.
