The eight people helping police probe the so-called Banting murders were brought to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital today for what is believed to be DNA profiling.

They were brought to the Emergency and Trauma Department of the hospital at about 3pm in a police truck escorted by two police patrol cars from the Bukit Jalil detention centre.

Seven of them wearing the orange-coloured lockup attire and one in purple-coloured attire were taken into a room where it is believed the DNA profiling was done.

They were seen leaving the premises at about 5pm and were taken away under tight police security.

Hundreds of people, among them journalists, doctors, nurses and patients, watched as the suspects were brought to the hospital and then taken away to the detention centre.

Cosmetics millionaire Sosilawati Lawiya, 47, her driver Kamaruddin Shamsudin, 44, lawyer Ahmad Kamil Abdul Karim, 32, and CIMB Bank officer Noorhisham Mohammad, 38, were killed, their bodies burnt and the ashes thrown into rivers in the vicinity of Ladang Gadong near Banting, Selangor.

All four were reported missing on Aug 30 after they had gone to Banting over a land deal.

Police picked up the eight suspects after finding out what had happened to the four.

Meanwhile, federal CID director Mohd Bakri Zinin reported on his Facebook page that the police had received the investigation papers on the murders returned by the Attorney-General's Chambers yesterday.

"It is the normal procedure to assist the investigation," he said.
