I'da World Group Sdn Bhd, that had recently offered a RM4 billion donation to PAS, today received a surprise visit from the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM).

roc official visit to i'da world 230910 01 Two SSM officers from the compliance department, who are understood to be checking on the status of the company, were observed taking photographs of the interior of the 'da World’s premises in Kelana Jaya today.

They then proceeded to meet the company chief executive officer Muhammad Sobri Din for roughly 40 minutes.

The SSM officers emerged from the CEO’s office shortly after, without speaking to any of the reporters who had gathered outside.

When met later, Mohamad Sobri said that the SSM officers did not tell him what had warranted the inspection or what they were “looking for”.

He added that the officers did not seize any documents from his office, but declined to comment further on SSM’s visit.

Earlier this week, the company's executive chairperson Abdul Rahim Abdul Wahab was reported to have offered PAS the RM4 billion donation in the form of a ‘ mock cheque ’ handed to Nik Din Nik Mat, Kelantan MB Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat’s younger brother.

According to I’da Global, the‘contribution’ was to allow the state government to develop the Kelantan’s infrastructure.

It also mentioned a RM1.76 trillion development project in northern Malaysia.

Many PAS leaders including Nik Aziz himself has however denied their involvement with the company, to the extent of blacklisting them from receiving state government contracts.

PAS vice-president Salahudin Ayub ( left, in photo ) has similarly denied that PAS has accepted the donations.

“After checking with Kelantan PAS, I have also found that PAS and the Kelantan government have never received any application from this company for any development project there,” he added.
