Pahang police are still waiting for the official directive from Bukit Aman to reassign Temerloh police chief ACP Ahmad Fadzillah Mohamed who shot a friend during a hunting trip in Kemasul, Lanchang, Temerloh, last Saturday.

Pahang police chief Robiah Abdul Ghani said Ahmad Fadzillah was still the Temerloh police chief but his duties have been delegated to his deputy, Supt Zundin Mahmood.

He said the transfer was a normal procedure to enable investigations to be carried out.

"He was not transferred immediately as reported, instead he may be required to vacate temporarily to allow investigations but I have not received any official directive from Bukit Aman," he told reporters at the Pahang police headquarters in Kuantan today.

Ahmad Fadzillah had accidentally shot Abdul Ghani Midon, 49, an assistant officer in Risda Chenor, Maran, while on a hunting trip with seven others at the Kemasul Forest Reserve at 5.10pm, last Saturday.

Pellets from a shotgun fired by Ahmad Fadzillah had blinded the right eye of Abdul Ghani.

Yesterday, inspector-general of police Ismail Omar had said that Ahmad Fadzillah had already been transferred to facilitate investigations.

Robiah said investigations on the incident, carried out by an investigating team from Temerloh, are expected to complete their report by next week.
