Police today obtained an order from the Magistrate's Court here to remand for another six days two suspects in an extortion case involving the wife of a millionaire from India who was reported missing in Banting early this year.

The order was issued by magistrate Hurman Hussain to facilitate police investigations.

Both suspects are believed to have extorted RM100,000 from the millionaire's wife, S.Usharani, 24, who is also from India, as a 10 percent advance of a RM1 million ransom to secure the release of her husband, Allal Kanthan Muthuraja, 34.

The suspects, who were clad in the orange-coloured lockup attire, were brought to the court at 9.30am. Their lawyer, Chelvarajan R Suppiah, was also present.
