Up to police to probe PAS' JI links: Mahathir
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today it was up to the police to decide to investigate whether the opposition Islamic party PAS had links with terror groups.
"It is up to the police," Mahathir told reporters when asked if police should investigate a meeting in Makassar, Indonesia in 2000 which was attended by PAS acting president Abdul Hadi Awang.
Abdul Hadi is the opposition leader in parliament and the chief minister of the oil rich eastern Terengganu state which was wrestled from the ruling Barisan Nasional government in a 1999 election.
