Kula awaits 'unity formula' in Perak DAP
Perak DAP deputy chairman M Kulasegaran will wait for a 'unity formula' to resolve the party's leadership in Perak before giving a final decision on resigning from the post.
Perak DAP deputy chairman M Kulasegaran will wait for a 'unity formula' to resolve the party's leadership in Perak before giving a final decision on resigning from the post.
Kulasegaran, who is also the Member of Parliament for Ipoh Barat, said the 'unity formula' would be decided at a meeting to be held soon.
"Suffice to say that my final decision will depend on the outcome of the meeting to be held soon which will look for a unity formula for Perak DAP...the party comes first and Kulasegaran second," he told reporters at Wisma DAP, Ipoh today.
The press conference today was the first after Kulasegaran cancelled the one scheduled for Oct 2 to announce his resignation from the Perak DAP post after claiming that he was frustrated with the various internal crises under the leadership of Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham as state chairman.
Kulasegaran, who is also the DAP national vice-chairman, is said to be planning to expose everything that had led to the leadership crisis in the Perak DAP after the special meeting on Oct 1 at Kampung Simee, Ipoh had failed to find a peaceful solution at the media conference last Saturday.
However, Kulasegaran who returned to Ipoh yesterday after a holiday abroad, had yet to be contacted by Ngeh or Perak DAP secretary Nga Kor Ming to hold a meeting to resolve the Perak DAP leadership problems.
"However, there is no enmity between Ngeh and I because he is still my chairman," he said.
He said he would also meet with DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang, secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and Ngeh as well as all the key leaders in the DAP at a dinner in Sungkai tomorrow.
