Lawyer Latheefa Koya will be questioned by police over allegations by former political aide Rahimi Osman that he was coerced into signing statutory declarations related to the sodomy trial of his former boss and Opposition Leader, Anwar Ibrahim.

"Despite the report being filed in Klang, I was informed that the Bukit Aman Commercial Crimes Investigation Department has taken over the case, but the location (of the interview) is Bukit Perdana," added the PKR member.

Asked why Bukit Aman commercial crimes was investigating the matter, she said she was not informed of the reason, but agreed with the possibility that the police may be looking at the case as one of forgery.

Police must look into all relevant matters

As to whether fellow lawyer and Kedah PKR Youth chief Saiful Izham Ramli, who was also named by Rahimi, would also be questioned, she said that she did not know whether Saiful Izham had been summoned.

NONE Latheefa hoped that the police would be through in their investigation and look into all relevant matters of the case.

"But the police must be clear, we don't have a copy of his new SD, but if it contradicts his 112 statement (Section 112 of the Criminal Procedure Code, statement given by a witness) then that is something that they must also look into," she said.

When contacted, Saiful ( right ) confirmed via SMS that he, too, has been asked to appear before the police at the same time and place as Latheefa over the same case.

Rahimi, who formerly worked for Anwar, made two statutory declarations in 2008 implicating Prime Minister Najib Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor in the sodomy charge against Anwar.

Latheefa and Saiful Izham were named by Rahimi, in a police report last Wednesday, as the persons who coerced him to sign the statutory declarations.
