With the Umno annual general meeting just a fortnight away, its Selangor chapter has launched the second round of its Save Selangor campaign, this time setting its crosshairs on PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim.

NONE Again led by Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Noh Omar, the initiative is aimed at building momentum for Umno’s takeover of the industrial state and rile up Umno grassroots ahead of the AGM.

Unlike the previous run , the campaign this time around will highlight Anwar’s ongoing sodomy trial.

“State economic advisor Anwar and his ‘sodomy tour’ across Europe recently has mystified Selangor residents.

“The humiliation and shame heaped by the oppostion leader in the international media against our country’s governance will cause Selangor, as the most developed state in the country, to lose out,” said Noh in a statement today.

Ezam in tow

He claimed that as a party which is attuned to the issues of the rakyat and a champion of their plight, Umno is using the roadshows as means to inform the public about issues that conern them.

Their first stop will be tomorrow night at the public field at Subang Perdana featuring speakers Senator Ezam Md Noor, who is the lynchpin of Umno’s anti-PKR campaign, among others.

azlan “Selangor Umno will continue our efforts to expose the abuses and weaknesses of the Pakatan-led Selangor in their three year rule over the state,” added Noh further.

Umno’s previous Save Selangor campaign featured the trio of Noh, Ezam and former MB Mohd Khir Toyo who Noh has hailed as the champions that will destroy the Pakatan state government with their axis of revelations.

Pakatan leaders however ridiculed the trio’s campaign as a side-show of no particular importance.
