PKR deputy presidency hopeful Mustaffa Kamil Ayub has called on the party to compel those contesting in the party elections to declare their assets and campaign spending.

Mustaffa said that this was a form of institutional reform that would give the party the moral standing to compel the Election Commission and the anti-graft authorities to adopt similar standards.

“I pose this challenge because we want to see democracy and an election process which is clean, free and fair,” he said in a statement today.

Mustaffa is the second deputy presidency candidate to have made suggestions to the party’s election committee after Zaid Ibrahim, who is gunning for the same post.
