OIC members meet for crisis talks on Iraq
Forty-eight Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) members including Iraq held crisis talks here today as US President George W Bush warned only full disarmament could prevent a war on Baghdad.
Fifteen heads of government joined the special session called by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad immediately after the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit here, which rejected any war without UN approval.
Qatar, which had previously objected to the informal meeting ahead of an emergency IOC summit in Doha next week, was represented by Prime Minister Abdullah bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
UN Security council members Syria and Pakistan were also present, two days after the United States, Britain and Spain submitted a new resolution on Iraq.
