PKR supremo: Zaid free to leave

Rolls-Royce: Anwar Ibrahim, whatever that you explain now, Zaid Ibrahim and his supporters and your opponents in BN will counter you with a vengeance. I believe the loyal supporters of PKR and the cause of opposition will understand. Just say it once and no more. It is enough.

Don't worry too much about being perfect. No one is perfect. Those who talk about white and black are usually gray. If Zaid does not want to quit, just ignore him. Soon he will find himself like Don Quixote fighting the windmills.

KSN: Zaid stands for something. He left Umno and joined PKR. But PKR is not up to it, so he is moving on. That takes courage and should be complimented, not condemned. What we are lacking in our parties and politicians are intellectual integrity and honesty. Let us encourage those who are displaying those qualities, even if it is just one individual.

Anwar cannot, with any morality and sincerity, say that PKR elections were conducted professionally without hanky-panky. No amount of rationalising will convince the people otherwise.

Ferdtan: Now that de facto leader Anwar has spoken, let's have a closure on the Zaid debacle. The less said the better. It is time for PKR to move on. The party's election will be over soon - the winners and as well as the losers should close ranks.

As the general election is imminent, the party leaders, including the contesting candidates should all go around the country to hold 'unity rallies' to get back the support of the members and the general public. It is time for action - no more talking and quarreling.

Anonymous: PKR offered the widest latitude to political aspirants who wanted to undo the damage that BN had wrecked on our beloved country. DAP and PAS have a very rigid structure that simply eliminates many party hopefuls. However, PKR's liberal attitude has been abused by many, the latest being Zaid Ibrahim.

The MSM (mainstream media) is trying to turn the Zaid episode into a colossal disaster for Pakatan. On the contrary, Zaid's departure will prove to be just a minor episode involving an upstart who couldn't get his way.

As for the likes of Haris Ibrahim and P Waythamoorthy, they do really need to examine whether they have the support of the people. The feedback from the ground is that they are just a bunch of bleeding-heart liberals with humongous egos.

Fly Emirates: Anwar, please learn this lesson well - never ever take any ex-Umno, MCA or MIC politician anymore. They only bring troubles and heartaches. Let the new faces come from NGOs or even ordinary people.

Count me out, says Jeffrey Kitingan

KayKay: It's not a question of whether Dr Jeffrey Kitingan will leave PKR but when. Some of his people have either quit or are about to quit the party. What does that tell us?

It's unlikely that he will go back to PBS, which has become a toothless bulldog. He will have to make common cause with Sarawak and work across the political divide against the machinations of politicians in Peninsular Malaysia who love to poke their nose in Malaysian Borneo.

Ghkok: Despite everything that is said about Jeffrey, the statements from him seem to be rational and sensible. He seem to have placed his priority on Sabah ... so be it ... nothing wrong with that.

At the end of the day, the story is not about Jeffrey or Zaid Ibrahim or even Anwar Ibrahim or Azmin Ali. The story is about the Pakatan movement. For the first time in 52 years, we have a strong and united opposition front, an alliance that is as solid and electable as can be achieved in an oppressive atmosphere as ours.

We are on the threshold of seeing the birth of a true two-party system. The Pakatan movement needs to be solidified by way of being voted in to form the next federal government and thereby breaking the BN tyranny, paving the way for Malaysia to rank amongst the successful democracies of the world - one in which even Singapore has not been able to achieve - with BN forming a strong opposition (yes, as always, we do need a strong opposition).

Singa Pura Pura: Jeffrey, you will have to stop the hop, skip and jump. From PBS you vaulted to PBRS, then Akar, then Upko. It's starting to even rhyme. If Umno had not rejected your application, you would have been a Peninsula-rian, and worse still, an Umnorian also.

It couldn't possibly have gotten any worse for you than to become a Peninsular-Umnorian, could it? Would you also have joined Usno as well? At least then you would have been a Borneo Usnorian.

Jokes aside, Jeff, stop skidding and start fighting. Also, in PKR, we shouldn't, like silly Muhyiddin Yassin, say Kadazan first, Malaysian second. Or Sabahan first, Malaysian second. Or can we, should we, Jeff?
