The special allocation to each Barisan Nasional-represented state constituency in Sabah will be increased by RM400,000 to RM1 million next year, Chief Minister Musa Aman said.

This was to enable the assemblypersons to provide assistance to the people in their area, some of which are bigger than the parliamentary constituencies in other states, he said.

musa aman and the sabah state The move was also in line with the “People First, Performance Now” slogan, he said when tabling the state 2011 Budget at the State Legislative Assembly sitting in Kota Kinabalu today.

The BN holds 57 out of 60 state seats in the state.

Musa also announced RM40,000 in incentive to Sabah weightlifter Aricco Jumith who brought honour to the country by winning the gold at the Commonwealth Games in India last month.

The amount was in addition to the RM80,000 received by the athlete from the federal government, he said.

Meanwhile, Musa said state civil servants in Grade 54 and below will receive RM500 each in special payment similar to those enjoyed by their federal counterparts.

“The special payment will be made in December in line with the announcement made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak when tabling the national 2011 Budget,” he said.
