Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah has given the assurance that he would fulfil the pledges made to the Orang Asli community which had helped a great deal to enable the BN win the Galas state seat in the by-election on Nov 4.

He said he would sit down with the Orang Asli chiefs to discuss the pledges and work towards fulfilling them because this was important for their progress.

Matters associated with the PAS government of Kelantan would be resolved together with the state government, he said when addressing an Aidiladha gathering to celebrate the BN victory in Galas, Bukit Chekati, last night.

Razaleigh said it would have been difficult for the BN to recapture

the seat from PAS without the consolidated support of the Orang Asli community.

Abdul Aziz Yusoff of the BN garnered 5,324 votes to beat Dr Zulkefli Mohamad of PAS by a majority of 1,190 votes in the by-election, for which Razaleigh was the BN election director.
