MCA Youth chief O­ng Tee Keat has received a letter asking him to attend the party's disciplinary committee hearing o­n March 31 to answer three charges against him.

According to Bernama report, the letter was sent to his office at the Youth and Sports Ministry yesterday.

The report said that newspaper cuttings of O­ng's statements that have allegedly tarnished the image of MCA and the Barisan Nasional (BN) were enclosed in the letter

"I received the letter yesterday and am studying the newspaper cuttings," the deputy youth and sports minister confirmed to Bernama today.

He, however, said that it was still too early to say whether he would attend the hearing or not.

Three charges

On Tuesday, MCA president Dr Ling Liong Sik said the party's presidential council had decided to refer O­ng to the disciplinary committee following complaints o­n his actions.

The three charges thrown against him are pertaining to his allegations o­n the Chang Ming Thien Foundation fund, triads politics in MCA and his failure to respect the party leadership.

However, O­ng again denied questioning the management of the fund or linking politicians in the government to loan sharking.

"My stand is clear; I stand by what I have said and I have given the necessary information to the authorities," he said.
