Rela targets 2.6 mil members by year end
The government is confident of the People's Volunteer Corps (Rela) achieving its target of getting 2.6 million members by end of the year.

Deputy Home Minister Lee Chee Leong said this was based on the current membership which was 2.1 million people.
He believed more people were keen to join Rela with various programmes and campaign carried out to get more people, especially those between 16 and 30 years old, to join as Rela members.
Those keen were now able to register on-line, he told reporters after launching 11 new Rela platoons in Sepang today.
Lee advised Rela members to maintain their discipline and make Rela the best civil volunteer corps in the country.
