Fresh from losing an appeal in the Federal Court earlier today, Anwar Ibrahim rushed from Putrajaya to the High Court in Jalan Duta court complex in Kuala Lumpur for the continuation of his sodomy trial.

azlan High Court justice Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah rejected defence lawyer Karpal Singh's application to initiate contempt proceedings against Hospital Kuala Lumpur forensic pathologist Dr Siew Sheue Feng.

However, the judge ordered that hospital's 'pro-forma' form - a standard format document on handling vistims of sexual abuse - be handed to the defence.

The document has particulars of the medical examination conducted on sodomy complainant Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.

The defence will also file an application to disqualify the judge today together with Anwar's supporting affidavit, while the prosecution is expected to reply to it through an affidavit.

The courtroom is still half-full. Anwar Ibrahim, his lawyers and the prosecutors have yet to arrive.

11.21am: Lawyer CV Prabhakaran, a member of the defence team, arrives with DNA specialist Dr Brian McDonald from Australia.

11.27am: Solicitor-General II Mohd Yusof Zainal Abiden and his team of prosecutors arrive.

11.28am: Anwar arrives with wife and PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

He gestures and says, "Sana sudah kena RM70,000." (I got hit with RM70,000 over there).

He is referring to the Federal Court decision an hour ago in Putrajaya where he was ordered to pay costs after he lost an appeal relating to a law suit against former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

11.45am: Lead defence lawyer Karpal Singh arrives. Anwar smiles at his supporters in the public gallery as he enters the dock. Court is about to begin.

NONE 11.48am: Court called into session with Justice Mohamad Zabidin ( left ) presiding.

11.51am: Justice Zabidin rules that the pro-forma form can be given to defence because Siew had referred to it during the court break yesterday.

However, the judge will not allow Siew to be subject to contempt proceedings, saying the witness' action was not calculated.

Yusof tries to seek clarification on the ruling that the form should be provided to the defence.

But Justice Zabidin says he has made his ruling and orders that the document be handed to the defence.

11.55am: Karpal says he has filed the application to recuse judge but that the documents have yet to arrive in court.

He applies for the recusal proceedings to be heard rather than go on with the trial.

Justice Zabidin calls a stand down.

Siew is then seen explaining the form to Karpal.

12.18pm: Sankara serves the recusal application papers to Yusof.

12.23pm: Parties meet Zabidin in the latter's chambers.

12.52pm: Parties emerge from chambers.

12.58pm: Court resumes.

1.03pm: Karpal says a motion has been filed to recuse the judge. Because of this, he does not want to continue cross-examining Siew and wants the application for recusal be heard tomorrow.

"Anwar is concerned (over whether) he would get a fair trial."

1.08pm: Judge will hear the recusal application tomorrow. Court adjourns.
