A man made a mistake in trying to break into a house with the intention to commit a robbery in Taman Cahaya, Kuala Lipis, last night, which resulted in him being arrested by the occupant of the house who is a police officer.

During the 11.30pm incident, the 47-year-old suspect was caught red-handed by the woman police inspector.

Pahang deputy CID chief Supt Mohd Haris Daud told reporters in Kuantan the 28-year-old police officer was alone watching TV when the suspect sneaked in through a bedroom window and but tried to flee after realising that the occupant was at home.

The woman however managed to catch him before he could run away.

The suspect is being remanded for further investigation.
