The cost factor is not the sole consideration if the general election and the Sarawak state election were to be held simultaneously as there are other factors to be considered too, said Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

"Election cost is one thing but the question is there are many other factors to be taken into consideration," he told reporters after opening the Asiaflex Products Sdn Bhd factory at the Kompleks Industri Tanjung Langsat, in Pasir Gudang, today.

Asked whether this meant that the Sarawak state election and the general election would not be held simultaneously, he said: "Anything is a possibility."

He was earlier asked by journalists whether the general election and the Sarawak state election would be held simultaneously to save cost.
