The Pakatan Rakyat national leadership will decide on whether the four states ruled by the coalition will call for snap polls if Parliament is dissolved, said Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim.

He said the issue was not raised during the Pakatan Rakyat Menteris Besar and Chief Minister summit earlier today, as it is not related to the running of state affairs.

NONE “Usually election matters will be decided by the Pakatan leadership. We discussed the various ways we can extend cooperation between the Pakatan states,” he said at a press conference at the Selangor government housing complex in Section 7, Shah Alam.

Also present at the event were Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Aziz Nik Mat and Kedah Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak.

Khalid said several workshops were organised during the summit for the chief executives and executive councillors of the four Pakatan states, not least being improvements on administration that focus on transparency, responsibility and efficiency.

NONE The summit also focussed on finding ways to overcome the continued negative publicity and spin by the mainstream media on Pakatan-led states, with Khalid stressing that the rakyat have the right to getting “correct information”, be it good or bad.

He also pointed out that Selangor is in the midst of laying out a plan to bump up foreign and local investments into the state, and eventually to all Pakatan-led states.

He however declined to give anything away, noting that he will first have to present their proposal to the rest of the Pakatan leadership and gain their support.
