A memorandum urging the government to take disciplinary action against a “racist” principal in Kulai, Johor, was given to the government today.

teoh beng hock memorial night 160710 kit siang Veteran parliamentarian Lim Kit Siang ( right ) and DAP Johor state assemblyperson Ong Kow Meng handed over the memorandum with over 2,200 signatures to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz demanding that SM Tunku Abdul Rahman principal Siti Insyak Mansor be dismissed.

Siti Insyak caused a national uproar when she uttered racist remarks against Chinese and Indian students during a school function.

The memorandum sent on the behalf of the school’s students, parents and the public stated that the principal made the remarks during the school’s pre-Merdeka celebration on Aug 12.

Siti Insyak, during the assembly, had allegedly told Chinese students to return to China and called Indian students as dogs, referring to prayer strings tied by Hindus around their necks and wrists as leashes.

“The government has targeted 30 percent wealth for bumiputeras and 70 percent for non-bumiputeras under the New Economic Policy. If I were to helm the government, I will instead allocate 70 percent wealth for bumiputeras and only 30 percent for non-bumiputeras.

“If I own a Proton Saga car and if I give a ride to Munusamy (referring to Indians) and Chong (referring to Chinese), they remain only passengers. They cannot claim any rights to the car. Likewise, the non-Malay students are merely passengers in the country,” she was claimed to have said.  

“We urge that strict disciplinary action including dismissal be taken against her. We also urge that she be charged under Section 504 of the Penal Code for instigating racial unrest,” the memorandum said.

Despite demands of stern action against the principal, the Public Services Department (PSD) has yet to take action on her.
