Albert_37fb: Do we realise the shameful process when Umno ministers and leaders are caught committing sinful acts? First, they will defiantly issue statements of denial and most probably will put the blame on the opposition or the online media.

And typically they will possess no sense of conscience or principles to step down from their powerful positions until full and transparent investigations have been completed to either clear their names or to charge them in a court of law.

And the police, MACC, AG's Chambers will remain completely impotent, not exercising independence and professionalism in their duties. And if the news get more intense, these Umno ministers' last resort will be to go the mosque and swear on the Quran that they did not commit the sinful acts. And the case will then be closed.

Bluemountains: 2007 is not that long ago. Cases that had happened much earlier like the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu and the 'khalwat' case in Port Dickson are still fresh in the minds of the rakyat.

Richards: Was the 2007 report by Migrant Care a false one? Even in the 2007 report, the married maid with children was most reluctant to name her rapist and further the issue. Suppose she makes a formal report now, what chance does she have of winning and what good will it do to her and her family, especially her children.

One thing is clear, with the supposed victim not willing to point the finger, no court in the world may be able to convict the rapist. But there is also the court of public opinion.

Sarawak activists, lawyer detained ahead of polls

Albert: As far as I am concerned, the police in Malaysia is not at all independent, professional and competent in carrying out their duties. We have a case in Sarawak where there are reported news (together with supporting documentary evidences) implicating the chief minister of misrule, rampant corruption and abuse of power.

Due to the inaccessibility of the alternative media, CDs and VCDs have to be produced to inform the natives living in the vast interior of this state, the realities confronting them and the main reason why they have remained poor despite the rich resources of the state.

And the police is taking on an active despicable role in protecting the evil sins of the chief minister by arresting the activists thus depriving our fellow countrymen in Sarawak pertinent information affecting them.

Sad: Only cowards will carry out such despicable acts. Sarawak Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud, Malaysia's most corrupted chief minister, should instead be arrested for swindling the state. What a shame.

MyGosh: TV Bebas Sarawak, Free Radio Sarawak and the Sarawak Report should take this as a challenge and up their ante five fold. Hurt them for their actions. You do not have much time - about four months at most.

Not Confused: Sarawakians - wake up and vote out BN at the coming polls. This action against political activists is a sure sign that Taib and his corrupt friends are on the run.

Those involved in the struggle to unseat the feudal baron from his golden throne should be prepared for all the dirty tricks that he and his boot-lickers can throw at them. Be firm and end his reign.

KJ John: This may be the equivalent of the 1986-type police arrests; as the power system can see that the tide is changing in favour of the weak and the marginalised. My prayer is that all citizens of Sarawak will spread the word about the truth by word of mouth - that cannot be confiscated.
