About 10,000 ex-supporters of T Murugiah want to become members of Parti Satu Malaysia, once its registration is approved by the Registrar of Societies (ROS).
Barisan Nasional Supporters Club vice-president R Muruga Raja who initiated the party, claimed that the group had refused to follow the former People's Progressive Party youth chief when he joined the MIC.
"The party was set up in June, last year but until today, we have only received acknowledgement from ROS which has not given us its approval.
"I know, registering a party will take time and even years, but we are not going to give up...we are going to meet ROS once again next week," he told reporters at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.
Muruga Raja said he had written a letter to Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak to enable the party to become a Barisan Naisonal affiliate, once its registration was approved by ROS.
He said membership of the party would be open to all races.
