A Malaysian National News Agency ( Bernama ) photographer, who claimed he was assaulted by auxiliary policemen near the Integrated South-Bandar Tasik Selatan Transport Terminal (TBS-BTS) yesterday, was asked today to show where the incident occured.    

Hairul Nizam Baharin, 37, was taken to the location by Cheras police headquarters CID investigating officer ASP Abdul Malik Hasim, accompanied by a police photographer and a TBS-BTS auxiliary policeman at 12.20pm.      

"I went back to the scene when asked to do so by an investigating officer from the Cheras IPD. This was following a report I filed at the Jalan Tun Razak police station right after the incident yesterday," he said today.      

In the incident, Hairul Nizam alleged that he was assaulted by a group of men wearing auxiliary police vests after he finished taking pictures around the terminal at 11.30am.      

Before leaving the area, the policemen asked him to stop his motorcycle but he refused as he was unsure of their intentions.      

One of them then grabbed his keys before another proceeded to punch and handcuff him.      

Cheras police chief ACP Mohan Singh Tara Singh, when contacted, said the case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.      

"We are carrying out investigations based on reports filed by the cameraman but we have not received any feedback from the auxiliary police at the mentioned terminal," he said.      

He added that statements would be taken from several individuals soon, including auxiliary policemen at the terminal.
