The Ministry of Transport will extend full cooperation to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in its probe into
a Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) contract to a foreign firm.
Its minister Kong Cho Ha said there were normally two types of evaluations carried out in the award of a contract, namely the technical and the financial evaluations, before it could be forwarded to the tender board.
"The ministry will cooperate fully in the investigation," he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur when asked on a Malaysiakini report today that the MACC was investigating a RM85 million contract by the KTMB.
According to the report, the project was to revamp the ticketing system in all 56 KTM Komuter stations in the Klang Valley and Negeri Sembilan.
The report also said that MACC officers had raided the KTMB office in Kuala Lumpur twice to collect documents regarding the contract.
