The women's wing of Sarawak PKR has identified between six to eight potential women candidates for the coming state election, the wing's chief Nurhanim Mokhsen said today.

She said the ultimate decision would be left to the PKR leadership.

"The list of names has been submitted to the national Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin," she told a press conference at the PKR Lanang division in Sibu.

She added that the movement, however, would still recommend other potential women candidates if they could prove their ability, including those from the Central Region which has seven divisions namely Lanang, Sibu, Mukah, Tanjung Manis, Kanowit, Selangau and Igan.

Meanwhile, Zuraida said national Wanita PKR would work closely with its Sarawak counterparts to strengthen the women's wing in the state.
