Kelantan Umno liaison chairman Mustapa Mohamed wants the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate into claims on the high price of the shop lots at the Tok Guru Bazaar in Kota Baharu.    

He said he had received complaints from many traders that the shop lots were now sold at double the price of RM40,000 per lot which was earlier promised by the PAS-led state government.    

"I urge MACC to investigate the allegation by the traders why the price has soared so high," he said in his speech at a Kota Baharu Barisan Nasional gathering today.    

Prior to this, chairman of the association of traders at the MPKB old market, Ab Salim Ahmad, had urged the Kelantan Menteri Besar Incorporated to fulfill Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat's promise to sell the shop lots at the Tok Guru Bazaar at RM40,000 to its members.    

He said the shop lots were now sold for RM80,000 to RM90,000 each and claimed that the price increase was a result of the project being handed over by the Kelantan Menteri Besar Incorporated to a developer for higher profits.    

The Tok Guru Bazaar is a new business complex planned on a two hectare site which formerly housed the Kota Baharu district police office.
