He is scheduled to meet Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim soon.
"I shall meet the state secretary after the Chinese New Year, on Feb 7," Khalid told reporters after chairing the state executive council meeting in Shah Alam when asked to comment on the ongoing tussle.
While he did not say that Khusrin has been informed about the meet, Khalid said that he is sure that the former Selangor Islamic Affairs Department head will know about it "soon" as they have their own internal communications.
Asked if this means that he will administer the oath of secrecy to Khusrin, the MB was coy.
"I will tell you if it happens. I shall also be holding a press confence with Khusrin after the meeting to talk of this. It is not fair for him to comment without him here," he said.
When quizzed about former Selangor prosecution department head Salehuddin Saidin's statement in the NST yesterday that Khusrin or the Public Service Commission can take action to compel him to administer the oath and accept Khusrin's appointment based on constitutional provisions, Khalid said the ball is in Umno's court.
"It is up to them. We have already tried with our amendment. I hope they do something," egged Khalid.
When informed of Chinese daily Sin Chew's report that the state government has decided to accept Khusrin ( left ) but will put him on six months probation with possible dismissal if he did not meet set KPIs, Khalid refused comment.
"I shall not answer that. That is not important," he said smiling.
Commenting further on the failed attempt to amend the state constitution, the MB said that he is going to intensify the campaign to gather popular support so that they will get the two-thirds majority in the next polls and have the mandate to go on with the amendment.
"The roadshow will start during Chinese New Year, we will go around Selangor to get the public's support.
"We shall also campaign all across Malaysia to ensure that our federal system also does justice to the state," explained Khalid further.
The state government had, on Monday, tried to amend the state constitution to return the power to appoint state ex-officio officers to the sultan and MB, but failed to get the required two-thirds majority.
Khusrin had tried to meet Khalid since his appointment but to no avail, and the MB had refused to administer the oath of secrecy to the state secretary until issues clouding his appointment were resolved.
This has prevented the former Jais head from attending exco meetings and assuming his full duties.
This latest development seems to signal an end to the impasse between the state and state secretary, with Khusrin finally granted a meeting with the MB.
