Shuhaimi to be charged Monday

Disgusted: Shuhaimi Shafiei is being charged for what? Telling the truth? In fact, he wanted to seek an audience with the sultan to apologise (ie, if the sultan thought he was wronged) and explain but was sabotaged and prevented from doing so by the sultan's private secretary, Mohamad Munir Bani an Umno lackey.

The sultan can put a stop to this frivolous charge by making a statement saying that he does not think what Suhaimi said was considered seditious by him and that he forgives him instead of keeping quiet and letting Umnoputras get their way.

Looks like Umno has got the sultan under their thumb as well. They have demonstrated against rulers especially in Trengganu over the appointment of the menteri besar there and said worse things than what Suhaimi said. The sultan of Trengganu, who happens to be the present Agong, could not say any thing and no charges were made against those Umnoputras.

Who is greater, the Agong or Umno? According to the constitution, the Agong should be the protector of the rakyat, not the protector of Umno.

Hello, Umno Polis Raja di Bolehland, when are you going to take action against those Umno members who called the Sultan of Terengganu "natang" (binatang) in 2008? You can't, can you?

After Shuhaimi Shafiei has been charged in court, he will be approached by Umno to jump, with goodies thrown in. Same old tactics. Will not work as the rakyat are not as ignorant as before.

Rayfire: Sedition? How about charging the other Umno actors with the same charge? Start with Utusun Malaysia, Perkasa, Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Ahmad Ismail, Nasir Safar, the racist principals in Johor and Keda, Chua Soil Lek, the list goes on. But no guts to act on them, right?

Umno has conveniently forgotten who removed the powers of the Malay raja-raja. Of course, I think that part of his speech has been removed from the Hansard of 1993. It takes Dr Mahathir Mohamad to do it and the Malays accept it. Now they talk about sedition? Bangkit, lah Melayu. Mana Perkasa?

Kannan MSakti: Suhaimi been harassed by Umno tools for months. He stood firm. Bravo to him. He is ready to face as he has the truth. It’s Utusan and Umno that need to be charged first. The Sedition Act is merely to put fear and suppress the voice of Makkal Sakti (People's Power).

On Your Toes: This is democracy ala Malaysia. We have free speech, but what happened to you after the speech is a separate matter.

We have rule of law, but surely some are more equal that others; they say government institutions will carry out their task without fear and favour, but we know who they curry favour most of the time.

We have separation of power, but that is after consultation and receiving directives. We have elected institutions and representatives, but those do not count a bit. We have election every five years or so, that is provided they win.

Shuhaimi, we understand your predicament now. But why want to deny this and that - just go ahead and state exactly what you have intended in your blog. No institution or judiciary can save you now except you jump ship or a new government is installed in Putrajaya. May all your colleagues stand firm and give you the support you need.

It is obvious BN is trying whatever it takes to destroy the opposition before the next election. There is really nothing much to debate and argue anymore.

The antics used are unbelievable blatant and crude and yet we the people mostly watch by in total oblivion of the injustices being inflicted and perpetuated. How much longer are we prepared to watch and do nothing?

Let me put it this way, if BN succeeds, this is how I would describe Malaysians in general – spineless, coward, no sense of justice, money face, corrupted, selfish, and immoral. We can all choose one that best suits us.

Police deny robbing pregnant woman

Anonymous_3e86: If she was arrested for unpaid duties, personnel from the Customs Department should have been present with the police. Was there a warrant to search her shop?

The police cannot, at their whims and fancies, break into any house or premises without a search warrant. What was the reason for breaking into her shop?       

40dd: What's the difference between robbing and seizing ? The former is illegal but the latter is legal? All robbers would want to be cops!

Change:   "We will investigate her claims that she was slapped and if there is truth to her allegations, I will take action against those responsible," Arjunaidi Mohamad told the Star.

I doubt a thorough the investigation, as we have seen in other cases involving police. They will cover up to protect their own men.

Malaysiasakit : I am deeply disappointed that the police did not discover a machete and some drugs. They must have changed their script in case the members of the public get suspicious.

Retnam : In the previous case of the Chinese businessman, the picture frame maker, the police initially denied all the complaints. Later, all of it turned out to be true. Now denial again. What is wrong with the police? I think all of them must undergo psychiatric screening immediately. Liars.
