N ew Straits Times front paged the prime minister saying that the appointments of heads of government-linked companies are based on capabilities, qualifications and experience and not solely on political background.

The Star led on the increasing numbers of people committing suicide. It reported that teenagers and young adults are taking their own lives due to mounting pressure in school, work, dealing with family issues and breakdown in relationships. It found that two people commit suicide a day in Malaysia but experts believe that the figure could be higher due to undetermined deaths.
