The Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court today acquitted and discharged former Jeli MP Mohd Apandi Mohamad of 13 charges of falsifying claim documents pertaining to hotel room rental nine years ago.

NONE Judge Nasir Nordin passed the judgement after finding that the prosecution had failed to make out a prima facie case against the former PAS elected representative under Section 11(c) of the Anti-Corruption Act 1997.

Mohd Apandi ( left ) had been charged with committing the offences between Feb 11, 2002 and July 23, 2003 at the finance section of the Parliament office.

He had allegedly given false information pertaining to the RM31,050 claim for lodging at the Perdana Resort Hotel in Pantai Cahaya Bulan in Kota Bharu at the rate of RM230 per night between Jan 5, 2002 and June 30, 2003.
