Sarawak BN will be holding a convention in Kuching on March 5 ahead of an expected state elections.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Liew Vui Keong said the convention will discuss Sarawak election as the state assembly will expire in July.
"The PM did not discuss Sarawak election in detail. We leave the matter to Sarawak Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud to make a decision," he told Bernama after the BN supreme council meeting at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) last night.
Liew, who is Liberal Democratic Party president, said Prime Minister and BN chairman Najib Razak will meet state leaders after the convention.
MCA deputy president Liow Tiong Lai said the meeting discussed the need for more efforts in facing Merlimau by-election in Malacca on March 6.
"We also discussed ways to make the poltical transformation programme a success," he added.
The meeting chaired by Najib also held a post-mortem on Tenang by-election in Johor on Jan 30 which BN won.
It was attended by MIC president G Palanivel, Gerakan president Koh Tsu Koon, People's Progressive Party president M Kayveas and Parti Bersatu Sabah president Joseph Pairin Kitingan.
