When half-truths are more dangerous than lies

'Civil servants in the Middle East and North Africa are standing up against immoral governments, but our very own are colluding with theirs to pervert the course of justice.'
Third day of questioning for dithering chemist
Kgen: What a circus! What a show! Umno has gone to town trying to frame Anwar Ibrahim. All the inconsistencies are coming out now.
Semen inexplicably found on the front of the underwear, sample with dates marked earlier than the alleged incident, strange omissions in the DNA analysis, foreign DNA found in mouth and anus after two days, medical documents stating attempted sodomy, refusal to answer direct questions, etc.
All these wouldn't be happening if they are based on real events, not imaginary events fabricated by stupid conspirators.
Pure Malaysian: Sankara Nair and Ram Karpal really gave a tough grilling to the chemist Seah Lay Hong. And Seah must be cursing and swearing for being dragged into this sandiwara . She could well have been a well respected PhD prior to this, but now, she could be the next Hee Yit Foong.
Kit P: It is obvious that instead of answering the questions put to her truthfully without fear or favour, Seah Lay Hong, is "calculating" what she will and will not reveal. As has been pointed out many times in the past, a half-truth is often more dangerous than an outright lie.
Ferdtan: Seah, this is a serious matter, whereby an innocent person can go to jail because of your not-too-honest testimony as a court witness. If you are not sure, then say you are not sure and don't beat around the bush by giving a ‘yes and no' answer.
It is obvious that you have been so partial with your answers that even the accused, Anwar, got angry enough to shout at you, calling you an ‘MCA doctor'.
Paul Warren: ‘Seah says the machines used were functioning properly.' I drive a car. That does not make me an expert to say anything about the condition of the car. Similarly, she uses the machine. She is not an expert to comment on the condition of the machine!
Mikey: It is so sad. At a time when civil servants in the Middle East and North Africa are standing up against immoral governments, our very own Seah is colluding with the government to pervert the course of justice.
'Is Saiful a passive homosexual?'
Multi Racial : The problem with Seah Lay Hong is that she is just not answering the questions professionally. She gives the impression that she has been instructed how to give her answers.
Sarajun Hoda: Based on this evidence alone, if the judge does not throw the case out, the Malaysian judiciary's dignity and reputation will continue to fall and will continue to be our shame in the eyes of the world. And the judge will regret all his life.
When Muammar Gaddafi issued orders to fire at protesters, the fighter planes refused to sin and flew out to Malta. Several Libyan diplomats around the world also resigned. I wonder when we will have such dignified civil servants in our country.
Atan-Toyol: This guy Saiful Bukhari Azlan is merely seeking publicity. He may be a homosexual, as suggested by counsel Sankara Nair. Perhaps he was paid handsomely to fabricate the accusation that he was sodomised, an act forcefully inflicted upon him, without his consent.
But since there was no injury around his anus, how could he have been forced upon? This is a crazy court case. It is only being dwarfed by the events unravelling in Libya at this time.
Panel: No re-analysis of Teoh's body fluids
Anonymous_3f5f: James, don't try to fool around with your lame jokes. We don't think they're funny. We want the truth, not joking around!
Anonymous365_hg: One thing we can at least be sure of, and that is the inquiry will go on smoothly, good or bad, and will finish speedily as possible, simply because the "opposition" is not there to belittle, stop, question and lastly, interfere. Whether the RCI will or will not serve justice to TBH and his family, we will find out when it concludes.
Strange that the lawyers asked the family to pull out, when in theory the family and the lawyers need not be involved in the RCI per se. They had a slim chance of justice if they wanted and also, there is a possibility the truth will be revealed, as many things will come out. The problem is, the "opposition" will do it's best to prevent it from finishing, and we will notice this as time goes by.
Anon_1064: Is this a comedy court? Is murder funny? Then why is the RCI making jokes about a murder evidence or exhibits (watch strap)?
Alan Goh: Hey, what happened to the MACC's head of prosecution, Abd Razak? With his proudly proclaimed 24 years of legal practice, why is it that Muhammad Shafie Abdullah has taken over and is representing the MACC? Tak ada drama macam self-strangulation... memang tak syiok lah!
Ankswak: Didn't Raja Petra Kamaruddin remind us of who this Shafie Abdullah is?
Stories: There we go with the suicide claim again. Didn't the earlier inquest rule out suicide?
