The police crippled a pirated film distribution ring and seized nearly two million pirated VCDs and DVDs with a street value of about RM30 million, the New Straits Times said today.

More pirated discs were seized from factories and retail outlets in Kuala Lumpur and neighbouring Selangor state.

Seized invoices showed the discs were smuggled to several countries, including South Africa, Dell Akbar said. The haul was the biggest this year, he added.

The daily s aid police have yet to arrest ringleaders.
