The Parti Keadilan Rakyat-led Selangor government will soon furnish the full details of audit reports on the Selangor Development Corporation (PKNS) and Yayasan Selangor, said Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.  

He said this was necessary to explain to the public the actual financial position of the two state subsidiaries.     

"The audit report of Yayasan Selangor should be ready latest by March, after the account was closed on Dec 31, last year, whereas, the PKNS audit report is ready and we have sent it to the National Audit Department for their (own) audit.     

"It would be ready latest by this April, May or June," he told Bernama when met after attending the Ijok Community Sports programme in Bestari Jaya near here today.     

Abdul Khalid is the Ijok state assemblyman and Bandar Tun Razak member of parliament.     

He said this when asked to comment on a call by Selangor Umno deputy liaison chief Noh Omar who asked the menteri besar to reveal the audit reports on the two state subsidiaries after it was embroiled in a recent expenditure controversy.     

Recently, Yayasan Selangor was investigated after it was said to have spent RM300,000 on its 40th anniversary dinner.     

The state development corporation is said to have sponsored the wedding of national astronaut Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Sheikh Mustapha to the tune of more than RM500,000.     

Meanwhile, Abdul Khalid said he would continue to fight in court, the ruling made by the Appeals Court on Thursday, that the attorney-general had the locus standi to initiate legal action to challenge the validity of the Selangor state secretary's directive that state civil servants could only be questioned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission at their respective offices.

"We will continue to fight (the ruling) in court. There is a principle in Parliament that we have to protect workers' right," he said.

Sri Kundang residents get land titles

Khalid also announced that 164 Kampung Melayu Sri  Kundang residents in Gombak today received 5A Notices or approval letters for land ownership titles with RM2.00 premium per sq ft.     

The Selangor MB said the applications for land ownership for the construction of residences in the village were made since 1999, with 700 applications altogether.      

"Of the total, 571 applicants had obtained their land titles while the rest of the applications were held back due to several technical issues which need to be resolved," he said in a statement, Shah Alam, today.      

Among the factors causing the applications to be rejected or not approved yet were that the given plots of land were left vacant, overlapping applications and two plots applied for already have owners.      

Abdul Khalid said there were also those who had not received the 5A Notices because the land survey was still not completed.      

"The premium rate agreed by the state executive council for those receiving the 5A Notices today is RM2.00 per sq ft," he added.      

Abdul Khalid said the state government targeted to resolve up to 100,000 applications on land matters in the near future.
