The royal commission of inquiry probing the death of Teoh Beng Hock heard that there are similarities between his statement to the anti-graft authorities and a note said to have been written by him.

Teoh had been questioned as a witness over the alleged misuse of Selangor government funds by his employer, Seri Kembangan assemblyperson Ean Yong Hian Wah.

Today, investigating officer ASP Ahmad Nazri Zainal said Teoh had told the Selangor MACC that he had done everything on Ean Yong's orders - atas arahan YB .

Muhammad Shafee asked Ahmad Nazri if this was similar to a note believed to be written by Teoh, in which the words mengikut arahan YB appear.

To this, the police officer replied, "Yes."

That concluded his testimony and he stepped down for the next witness.

'No blood stains'

Forensics scientist Dr Seah Lay Hong then testified before the royal panel.

She told the commission that DNA evidence could indicate if there had been any ‘altercation’ while Teoh was being questioned.

NONE Seah (right) confirmed that no DNA of MACC officers had been found on Teoh or on his belongings.

Bar Council lawyer N Nahendran quizzed Seah on protocols involved in DNA testing.

She said there is no time limit as to when the cops should deliver samples for testing.

She also said she did not find any foreign DNA in clippings from Teoh's fingernails.

Muhammad Shafee asked if blood stains had been detected on Teoh's clothing and belongings.

Seah said she did not find any blood stains, but that foreign DNA was present on his clothing.

During the inquest, forensics eperts had also similarly testified that there was no evidence of physical struggle in the MACC office on the 14th and 15th floor of Plaza Masalam, Shah Alam.

Muhammad Shafee also told the commission that the MACC’s internal inquiry showed that no one at the office had flouted rules when investigating Teoh.

“The conclusion is they have been absolved in all these matters from criminal responsibilities or disciplinary conduct,” he noted.

Conducting office Awang Armadajaya Awang Mahmud tendered investigation diaries of the enforcement officer who had questioned Teoh for further perusal of the parties involved.

 

The inquiry resumes tomorrow with MACC enforcement officer Zurinawati Zulkipli.
