Ninety-four Sabah PKR members from its Indai Tuaran division quit the party en-masse today to join Umno.
Led its former head Rusnin Laseh, they submitted their membership application forms to join Umno to Tuaran Umno head Hajiji Noor, who is also Sabah Housing and Local Government Minister, in a brief ceremony in Tuaran today.
Speaking to reporters afterwards, Hajiji said their quitting Sabah PKR showed the party was not going anywhere in the state and expected more members would be leaving it in the near future.
Meanwhile, former Sabah PKR chief Pajudin Nordin, who was also present, said several more Sabah PKR division leaders would be announcing their resignations soon and would be joining the BN to help the coalition in facing the next general election.
