Kedah Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak and 10 state executive councillors were sworn in before the Sultan of Kedah, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah for another year at Istana Anak Bukit here today.

Speaking to reporters after the ceremony, he said all except for two state executive councillors, Phahrolrazi Zawawi and Amiruddin Hamzah, retained their portfolios.

Phahrolrazi Zawawi is now chairman of the state housing and local government, public works, water supply, water resources and energy committee while Amiruddin heads the state industry and investment, agriculture and agro-based industry, biotechnology, rural development and poverty eradication committee.

The minor reshuffling of the portfolios only involved the two state executive councillors.

Meanwhile, azizan also retained his portfolio as chairperson of state economic planning, state planning, land affairs, land and natural resources, state action council, internal security, finance and government-linked companies committee.

Azizan said he was satisfied with the performance of the state executive councillors so far and hoped they would strive to ensure an efficient and reliable state administration.
