Sarawak Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud held a closed-door meeting with several senior leaders of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) on the fifth floor of the new state assembly complex in Petra Jaya this morning.

Present were Deputy Chief Minister Numpang Alfred Jabu, special adviser to the chief minister's office Adenan Satem, state housing and urban development minister Abang Johari Openg and state planning and resource management minister II Awang Tengah Ali Hassan.

State infrastructure development and communication minister Michael Manyin Jawing, minister in the chief minister's office Fatimah Abdullah, Natural Resources and Environment Minister Douglas Uggah Embas and Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Fadilah Yusof were also present.

Press secretary to chief minister Jameson Ahip Nawie, who was pressed for comment, said the meeting was a normal weekly meeting chaired by the chief minister.

"Who asked you to come here, this is only a normal meeting, if there is any announcement, will call the media," he retorted and ordered reporters and photographers from the mainstream media to leave the building.
