PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution will stand in for opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim and read out his speech in the Dewan Rakyat.

"I have just received a message, an pkr congress pc 271110 saifuddin nasution email from Anwar from court, he said ‘Machang'," Saifuddin (right) told reporters in Parliament today, referring to himself, the MP for Machang, as the stand in.

"I will be reading out the speech on Anwar's behalf. It will be today, if time permits, if not tomorrow," he said.

Saifuddin also rubbished a question as to whether he will take over as opposition leader.

"We did not elect an opposition leader, the agenda was who would read out the opposition leader's address," he said, referring to a meeting of top opposition leaders earlier today.

Anwar has been suspended from Parliament for accusing public relations firm Apro Worldwide as having links with Israel, and saying that the 1Malaysia programme attributed to Premier Najib Abdul Razak had originated from Apco.
