The authorities will search private homes if they receive tip-offs about people with pornographic VCDs, local media reported Tuesday.

"We are just waiting for any information from the public and we have ways to investigate these claims before applying for a warrant to move into these premises," Home Ministry spokesman Mamat Ibrahim was quoted as saying by the Star .

"The ministry will not accept the excuse that these pornographic VCDs are only for 'personal use'. The law does not allow that," he said.
