A bomb expert wanted over last year's terror attack in Bali is top of a list of six local militants who are being hunted throughout Southeast Asia, a senior Malaysian intelligence official said today.

"There is regional cooperation to get them. We are going all out as far as the six are concerned," Anuar Bashah, deputy director of the special branch unit of police told AFP .

The suspected bomb-maker, Azahari Husin, had been jointly charged with Indonesia's Imam Samudra, who is currently on trial for last October's Bali bombing which killed more than 200 people, Annuar said.

Reward offer

The police have offered a bounty of RM50,000 ringgit for the arrest of Azahari and five other suspected members of the al-Qaeda-linked Jemaah Islamiah (JI) network blamed for the Bali attack.

Anuar said the other five are Noor Din Mohamad Top, Shamsul Bahri Hussein, Amran Mansor, Zulkifli Hir and Zulkepli Marzuki.

Malaysia is already holding a total of 76 suspected Islamic militants, many of them alleged JI members, under the Internal Security Act, which allows for detention without trial. -- AFP
